Hi guys, I've got the full range of the Abbey road drums collection that I've picked up as and when over the years, and so does a friend, although I think he got Komplete ultimate 9 with them in. I've just been sent a logic session to open up, and weirdly 70s drums is crashing the loading process. Firstly, it says it is looking for 70s drummer - where as I have 70s drums. On closer inspection in my own library I seem to have: 50s Drummer 60s Drums (Got on its own) 60s Drummer (came with k9) 70s Drums 80s Drums Modern Drums Vintage Drummer Are there any differences between the two?

The background icon says the correct name (drums/drummer) but it seems odd that it wouldn't recognise the drums/drummer thing if they are the same library. I'm guessing the 'drums' libraries are much older than the 'drummer' ones. Re the error - a missing samples kontakt message turns up and if you press anything other than abort it will crash. Not a massive deal, but a bit of a pain since I don't know what particular sample that one should be now. Cheers, Jonik.

My mistake, the free upgrade didn't happen via Service Centre. I just looked in my emails, and they emailed me the free upgrade download link and serial number back in January 2012. Check the email account you used to register with Native Instruments for emails received around that time. If that doesn't turn up anything, you could try contacting Native Instruments support. I think mk282 is correct, you should be able to redirect your Drums library back to its sample folder. However, another issue you may encounter is that the Drummer series offers a range of different MIDI mapping options.

If your friend was using one that is different to the original drums library then it could trigger different samples to the ones they intended - eg they might have intended a high tom, but instead you get a crash hit.

I have just bought and had delivered Native Instruments Studio Drummer (£60 bargain!) But I already have the latest full version of Kontakt 5 with all the updates installed and on trying to installed Studio Drummer the message comes up, 'Do you really want to downgrade your version of Kontakt 5?' Well of course not, but there are only 2 options available 'Continue (and downgrade) or Cancel, which stopes the installation Why would Studio Drummer bother about which version of Kontakt I have anyway? Would I de-activate Kontakt 5 in the License Centre and then reactivate it after Studio Drummer has been installed? Kimber of oregon model 82 serial numbers. Why don't companies like Native Instruments forsee these events and in their little installation booklets tell the user what to do, or do they say 'Why should we bother, the buyer can go on SOS and find out there' I have emailed Native Instruments in the past when I have had support queries but it always takes half a week for them to reply, and i many cases they just say 'look at the forums' which is a novel take on we've had your money now sod off UPDATE I clicked on yes, carry on and now I get the message. 'Installation is not possible since the full version of Kontact 5 (in fact it is 5.0.3.xxxx) is found on this computer.

The latest version of Kontakt 5 can load all Kontakt player libraries (I don't have Kontakt Player but the full version of Kontakt, whatever difference that should make?) You can update your existing Kontakt 5 full installation by running the latest Kontakt 5 update installer' Well it is updated already!!! NATIVE INSTRUMENTS - I SHALL NOT BUY ANY MORE OF YOUR CROCK OF CRAP PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN. I am heartily fed up of shelling out not inconsiderable amounts of money only to have to go through the excrutiatingly convoluted fragile (non) installation routines again, especially when I see friends downloading warez that work first time!!!!! In fact one of them gave me Studio Drummer which I did not install and went on the internet and bought it, and here I am several hours later looking at a friggin cardboard box and a couple of DVDs that are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. And worse still, ask NI for support and you wait for an age for a vague explanation that's even less use.
