First the obvious, a SLI SD70M from the Wind Turbine Pack, reskinned in NS. Pretty easy bash using the NS SD70 “A” ace from the Continuous Rail SD70 set from SLI. Next make a template for the “B” ace and apply decals and fonts, special thanks to Pete Willard. I started skinning MSTS way back in the day. It was the reason I picked up PSP 8.0, which is what I still use today.

Oct 25, 2016  MSTS Addon SLI Torrents Download. Modern CSX Rock Runner Trainset with CSX SD70M and leased CITX and CEFX rebuilt SD40M. The Norfolk Southern Horseshoe Curve. Mar 26, 2017 - They are not in the Horseshoe Curve Trainset pack. Some (various roads, but no NS)_husky2_2h.wags. In a freight pack I have from SLI.

The early work was photo skins and I eventually moved on to work for Dekosoft and Facing Point (which didn’t pay well, long story). I did a lot of work back then and submitted under Pedro-Built or some such name. I got bored of MSTS and quit about in 2006. The sim was dated to me and I lost interest. Afterwards I continued to improve in graphic arts and went on to paying gig’s in the gaming world to include graphics for Sims and board wargames.

Still it’s a hobby. About two months ago I looked at the TS boards as I do occasionally, to see what was new.

I saw Open Rails and got curious. I saw all the resources available now, BIN, installation guides for 64 bit machines and I started MSTS or should I saw OR all over again. Still a great learning curve and certainly not a plug and play endeavor. After I got OR installed and started installing routes again, I noted all the great updated high poly models and routes covered in scenery. It’s like new! I bought “new” high poly models from SLI and Diesel’s West and have thrown out all the old stuff. I got Conbuilder and several hundred dollars’ worth of routes, train sets and packs.

Now I got a nice train set, that’s stable and has many great routes, some even free like Mactier and NS Horseshoe Curve. The NS pay ware routes are just not there. After Horseshoe, I started looking at my NS sets and though I should start skinning up some SD70M’s.

The SLI SD 70M Wind Turbine set has the best models and they seem to match up well the NS models. So literally in a day, I re-learned how to skin for MSTS models. I am much faster now and TGA tool seems better.

The resources on font’s from Pete Willard make skinning so much easier. Now that I work in layers, which I actually didn’t do 13 years ago and makes things so much easier. So without diving in to re-skin policies and certainly not doing a release as of yet, I show you this SD70M from NS. Just need to figure out the hand rails on the skin and policy on skins from SLI and I could pump out a pack of these in no time. We shall see. It’s nice to be back.

Hi All, There are a couple of activities for the Horseshoe Curve route available in the library. I have been able to locate all the stock required except for those in folder SLI_NS_Stacks1 which contains several wagons named similar to NS_husky2_2h.wag. Can anyone advise me in which SLI product these are contained, please? They are not in the Horseshoe Curve Trainset pack. Before I'm advised to substitute them with other available stock, may I just say that I am from the other side of the 'pond' and don't really know what a 'husky' wagon looks like, or its dimensions! There is a Husky Stack pack available in the file library (gx_dblstacks_ms1.zip), but I'm unsure what the various numbers after 'NS_husky2' indicate, so would like to use the stock actually specified for the activities.

Thanks, Cheers, Ged. Not sure about the NS bit Ged but there were some (various roads, but no NS)_husky2_2h.wags. In a freight pack I have from SLI. I'm not sure if these were from the original stock pack for one of the SLI routes (Scenic Sub V1?) OR from the short lived freight stock packs that SLI sold for a short while. These were withdrawn some time ago whilst SLI were still SLI. The BNSF route stock was all upgraded.

Differences being higher detail, round wheels etc. As for the number after husky2? I take it you mean husky2 _2h?

Well the first number in the husky bit dictates the owner of the containers on that wagon. All having different owners containers in the load. The _2h means its a double stack of conatiners. _1h being a husky with just one container.

Frankly the stuff I have that contains these is not up to Streamlines current standard so I’m guessing that’s why they’re not available? The library is full of excellent freeware Container wagons so a bit of substitution would probably be quicker and more rewarding than tracking these down?
